Head Room Cafe
89 Golders Green Road, Golders Green, London NW11 8EN
020 8248 8472
Jami, the mental health service for the Jewish community, has opened a brand new social enterprise in Golders Green. Head Room Cafe is a fuelling-stop for both the body and mind, offering Mediterranean- style fresh seasonal food prepared by ex-Palomar and Ottolenghi chefs and drinks including freshly squeezed smoothies in a relaxed, fun environment decorated with hip wall art and quirky furniture. There’s even a cute little vintage store at the back! A share of the cafe’s turnover goes to Jami.
There is a wide range of salads and a seriously good shakshuka for when you’re being ‘good’, and indulgent challah toasties and amazing bakery yummies for when you’re not.
The cafe is open in the evenings too with a tapas style sharing plate menu. Restaurant Club favourites include the hand-pulled crispy chips with garlic aioli, burnt aubergine sabich, haddock, cod and preserved lemon cigars and panko and seaweed fried tuna with a horseradish dressing. But try to leave room for one of the house special ice cream sandwiches or a creamy malabi dessert!
‘Had a lovely shakshuka there last week, and the kid’s fish and chips is particularly good too!’ Jennifer
