Originally established on the All Saints Road in 1997 by restaurateur Michael Lim, ULI was loved by all thanks to its fresh, honest approach to Asian cuisine. When it closed its doors in 2013, almost the entire neighbourhood mourned. One regular, Graham Rebak, was so upset he decided to take action. Having prised Michael out of retirement, they set about finding a suitable location for the new ULI.
The pair finally decided upon a former grocery shop in Notting Hill. Now completely restored, and boasting a huge covered terrace which transforms itself from summertime al fresco favourite to winter wonderland, the new ULI has wasted no time in achieving the heady heights of its predecessor.
A reimagining of the original, ULI’s menu features a perfectly curated selection of Michael’s favourite dishes from Asia, all prepared using traditional Chinese, Thai, Malay and Singaporean disciplines.
Here you can choose a balanced choice of clean, fresh and healthy snacks, small plates and main dishes spearheaded by such perennial favourites as Szechuan chilli prawns and soft shell crab, each with distinct and different flavours and all prepared from scratch.
