OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

Hudsons and Indulge Dessert Lounge are both set to open new branches in north west London, replacing sites formerly owned by The Delisserie.

Hudsons, a Restaurant Club favourite, will be moving into a 2,830 sq ft unit in Borehamwood, joining the thriving foodie scene there. The new Hudsons site will offer the same, much-loved US-style menu served in its Whetstone and Mile End locations, including dishes such as firebomb chicken wings, truffled mac ’n’ cheese, blackened tuna and their famous ribs, as pictured above.

A second former Delisserie site in Stanmore was picked up by Indulge Dessert Lounge, a second location to follow on from its flagship outlet in Pinner, Middlesex. The 1,700 sq ft unit on the Buckingham Parade in Stanmore is expected to serve its late-night dessert offering including freshly made waffles, crêpes and pancakes, along with a variety of savoury options.

The deal was brokered by CDG Leisure, who worked with insolvency agents Williams and Partners to secure the sites. Emma Cousins of CDG Leisure said: “This is a great outcome for Delisserie and a testament to the strength of the two brands. Hudsons’ extensive repertoire of iconic American dishes is guaranteed to generate a buzz with Borehamwood diners. “We are also seeing a growing demand in dessert restaurants, which has been endorsed by social media platforms such as Instagram. Indulge’s huge variety and after-dinner opening hours will make it a perfect destination for friends and family in Stanmore and neighbouring suburbs.

Four former Delisserie sites have now been acquired, three of them by restaurants on The Restaurant Club scheme. The Mill Hill branch was purchased by Bob’s Café (another Restaurant Club favourite) in April and is a hugely popular neighbourhood offering. Another site in St John’s Wood has been secured by vegetarian and vegan restaurant The Gate, which is also part of The Restaurant Club. This venue is due to open in October.
