*** WINNER OF HEALTHY CURRY OF THE YEAR AT 2018 LONDON CURRY AWARDS***

‘Tapas’ is the 21st century way to enjoy more and more cuisines, and lends itself beautifully to Indian cooking. This contemporary, sleekly designed restaurant, which has flashes of colour here and there in the cushions (placed by the owner’s wife) and the stunning wall murals painted by his artistic daughter is a terrific addition to Child’s Hill, which already boasts a few other great eateries.

The Lamb Tikka Pasanda with cinnamon, almond and saffron, and the Murgh Tikka Jalfrezi (chicken) burst with flavour, but an Indian restaurant is a non meat-eater’s dream and even the most hardened carnivore will be drawn to the veggie dishes. There are no fewer than nine vegetarian curries, plus starters such as Somosa Chaat (puffed pastry parcels filled with gently spiced veg and served with chickpeas, yogurts and chutneys), Bringel Crispy (lightly fried and slightly spicy aubergine rounds), Bhindi do Pyaza (okra with onions and chillies) and Sweetcorn Masala.

And the name Bonoo? Ask owner Mina the origin yourself – he loves to tell the story.

Review:

‘Had a really delicious meal at a new Indian tapas restaurant on Finchley Road called Bonoo. Food, service and ambience was great and way above average. Would highly recommend.’ Danielle

‘It appears to be a slightly modern take on Indian street food and it works. The staff, the decor and the food were all delightful. Recommend highly and will definitely be returning.’ Mel

‘It’s NOT your typical Indian and STUNNING flavours. Quite small so reservation highly recommended! Loved it!!!’ Rachel
