Cockfosters is turning into a foodie haven! La Petite Auberge (of Islington) has opened a wonderful new restaurant there and it’s gorgeous. There’s a huge, cool, sexy bar as you walk in and two separate dining areas in two complementing but different decors. The whole place has that ‘being on holiday’ feel and during the day or the light summer evenings it’s great to sit in the back section, which is like a conservatory. The menu features classic French dishes – terrific onion soup, creamy foie gras, great steaks, wonderful garlic prawns, dauphin potatoes, yummy whitebait, a really good tarte tatin and much, much more.
